Self-Help Books That Changed My Life
Oh, how I love a good self-help book! Many of these I read years ago and am curious to pick up again now that I’m here on my journey. Still, they are books that changed the way I thought about everything and made a huge impact on my life.
I’m on Goodreads if you’d like to see more of what I’ve read. This list only includes my absolute must-reads.
I would love to hear your favorites in the comments below.
This book changed me forever. I consider it my bible. I am personally not religious, and I will warn you that author speaks of “God” and uses terminology that may come off as religious, but it’s really just speaking to the universe, source, a higher power – whatever spiritual reference you prefer. This book taught me how to come from a place of love instead of fear. Please give this one a read.
If there is one book that will change the way you think about relationships, this is it. But it’s so much more than that. We’ve all heard the phrase “you must love yourself before you can love someone else” but this book shows you how, and why it’s so necessary.
This is a fiction book but I chose to include it on this list because it’s more of a fable with a deeper spiritual lesson. It is one about following your heart, learning to trust your intuition, and the powerful ways in which the universe conspires to help you once you decide to truly follow your dream.
I read this book when I was going through a very difficult time and had gained some weight I couldn’t shake. Most of us understand the concept of emotional eating but this book opened my eyes to accepting myself as whole. I believe my daily meditation practice has been what’s allowed me to finally shed that weight – I exercise less than I ever did before and eat healthfully but still enjoy the things I love.
This is not your average book on financial prosperity. Written by an activist and fundraiser who has worked with the very richest and poorest people in the world, it will truly open your eyes to our disturbing relationship with money and offer insight as to how we can heal it.
