sunday funday: cooking with crocs
httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nshe6BIgPgE Wow! Can’t believe it’s been a month since my last update. Things have been insane around here as usual, more updates coming, but for now I’ve got something special …
Recently I had the pleasure of working with Crocs on a pretty amazing sunday funday at home collaboration, which aired today on The Better Show! Different times all over the country, so instead you can watch right here. 🙂
We’re all familiar with the funky clogs that chefs wear, but they’ve got a whole new line of more fashionable shoes now. And what better way to promote them than a comfort campaign? The shoes are beyond comfortable indeed, so to play up on this I cooked up my favorite comfort foods in their comfy shoes.
It’s summer, so mac and cheese is out, clearly! The first thing that came to mind was ice cream. Perfect for summer and I’ve become somewhat of an expert recently as I’ve been making ice creams for clients very often. I probably make my coconut-lime sorbet at least twice a week, so good!
Doesn’t get more comforting than a brownie sundae, so a make-your-own ice cream sundae bar was the perfect plan. This is a perfect entertaining idea for summer because you can make it as easy as you want! If you feel like getting creative and making your own ice cream, great! And if not, you can totally go store-bought.
Even the brownies can be made from a mix if you’re absolutely time-crunched. But I totally recommend making them from scratch if you can. My brownies are a chocoholic’s dream! And believe me, I would know – I have quite an addiction.
We know we’ve gotta have cocktails on sunday funday, so I went with bourbon-spiked mint tea. I mean, aren’t we all more comfy with a little bourbon in us? 😉 And minty iced tea is super-refreshing for hot summer days.
Can’t forget about the shoes! Here are the links for the Huarache flats (they remind me of jelly shoes and I’m kind of obsessed) and the A-Leigh wedges. I didn’t get to wear them but my absolute favorite are the boat shoes. Definitely asking Crocs for a pair of these!
